Free errand Tuesdays
The Foundation for Wellness Professionals, a nonprofit group of volunteers, is offering to run errands in the Merced-Atwater area at no cost for senior citizens and others unable to leave their homes between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Tuesdays until the end of the year. Women’s Club Christmas Social
The Merced Women’s Club is holding its annual Christmas Social at 1 p.m. Tuesday at 707 W. 22nd St. Activities include bridge, cards, bingo and board games, along with desserts, beverages and raffle prizes. Donations of $10 per person are appreciated. For ticket information, call 209-723-1169.
Senior Social Club Christmas lunch
The Merced Senior Social Club Christmas lunch of ham and trimmings will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at 755 W. 15th St. The cost for members is $6; nonmembers $8. Tickets will be sold at the Senior Center on 15th Street on Monday and Tuesday. For more information, call 209-383-6057.
Atwater parade entries
Christmas Past, Present and Future is the theme for Atwater’s annual Christmas Parade at 7 p.m. Friday. Hosted by the Atwater Chamber of Commerce, the event begins in downtown Atwater and concludes with a visit from Santa on the grounds of the historic Bloss Home, at Broadway and First Street. Peripheral Neuropathy Support Group
The Merced Peripheral Neuropathy Support Group’s next meeting is 1 to 2 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Hoffmeister Center, 1920 Canal St. Tingling or numbness in the toes, fingers, feet or hands could indicate peripheral neuropathy. SPCA Christmas Home Tour
The Merced Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is holding its 23rd annual Christmas Home Tour on Dec. 13. The event will run from noon to 4 p.m. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the following locations: Maciel & Co. in the Merced Mall; Christina’s Fine Clothing in Bear Creek Galleria; Wash N Wag on North Santa Fe Avenue; A Blooming Affair Floral on Main Street; the Merced SPCA on Childs Avenue; and Expressions of Love Floral on Broadway Avenue in Atwater. Join the community for a musical Christmas concert with choirs from local churches and musical groups at 7 p.m. Dec. 13 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1080 E. Yosemite Ave.
