Mental Health Board meeting
The monthly meeting of the Merced County Mental Health Board will be from 3:30 to 5 p.m. today at 1137 B St. The meeting will include an update on the blending of boards and the quarterly Mental Health Board financial report.
Merced Camera Club to meet

United Way coat drive
The United Way is sponsoring a coat drive to benefit those in need in the community. Drop off new or slightly used coats to United Way of Merced County, 658 W. Main St., Merced between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Buhach High crab feed
The Buhach High School Music Boosters will have their 10th Annual Crab Feast on Jan 31 at the Merced County Fairgrounds Pavilion Building. Social hour is 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Auction is 7:30 to 8:45 p.m. Dancing is 9 p.m. until midnight. Tickets are $45 per person or $320 for a table of eight. Atwater church revival

Start Smart youth driving class
A class offered by the California Highway Patrol for new and prospective young drivers is set for Wednesday in Atwater. The class is free, but space is limited, Officer Moises Onsurez said. Teenagers 15 to 19 and their parents or guardians are invited to attend the two-hour class at the Merced CHP Office, 1500 Bell Drive, Atwater. Class topics include techniques to avoid collisions, the dangers of driving under the influence, primary causes of crashes and seat-belt usage. The latest “Red Asphalt” video will be shown. World Dance course
A World Dance course is being offered through Merced College Community Services on Wednesdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Merced College in Gym 4. $40 per person per six-week session, the first of which begins Jan. 14. Applicants can register for free online at www.mercedcommunityservices.com.
