Merced High Senior Parent Night
Merced High’s Senior Parent Night will be 6 p.m. Jan. 12 in the gymnasium. Staff will share the senior activities schedule for spring, and parents that attend will get additional graduation tickets. For more information, call the school at (209) 385-6467.
Merced High FFA crab feed
The second annual Merced High School FFA crab feed will be held Jan. 31 at the school gym. Doors open at 5 p.m., followed by a silent auction at 5:30 and dinner at 6. There will also be a dessert auction and a live auction. The event is this FFA chapter’s largest fundraiser. The proceeds are used for out-of-area FFA trips, leadership conferences and chapter supplies. Tickets are $45 each. American Legion crab feed
An all-you-can-eat crab feed is scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m. Jan. 24 at American Legion Post 83, 939 W. Main St., Merced. The event benefits the American Legion’s Youth Baseball Program and the volunteers’ baseball team. Meal includes crab, pasta, salad, rolls and dessert. Wine will be available, along with soft drinks, beer and cocktails for purchase at the bar. Tickets are $45 and can be purchased from coaches, players, parents, American Legion Post 83 and McNamara’s Sporting Goods in Merced. There will be raffle prizes. Covered CA open enrollment
The Covered California open enrollment period ends Feb. 15, and Catholic Charities is hosting a special enrollment event from 9a.m. to 2p.m. Jan. 24. Certified enrollment counselor Sandra P Thiruvalluvan and certified insurance agent Marion Mitchell will be working together to meet the needs of the Merced community. Call for appointments. Merced-Atwater Tea Party meeting
The Merced-Atwater Tea Party will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 15 at the Atwater Memorial Building,
Fifth Street and Broadway, Atwater. Merced County Sheriff Vern Warnke will talk about his first weeks in the job and some of his ideas and plans for the future.
Pasta fundraiser for Castle
The Castle Air Museum plans a pasta dinner fundraiser from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 24 at the Atwater Community Center, 760 E. Bellevue Road, Atwater. The cost is $10 for the dine-in or take-out meal. MS Challengers
MS Challengers, a self-help group sponsored by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, will meet from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church’s administration building in Merced. The group is designed to help people live and cope with the disease. The church is located at 500 Buena Vista Diver. Meetings are held on the second Saturday of each month, unless otherwise specified.
Cioppino dinner
The Merced Breakfast Lions Club will host its 34th annual cioppino dinner Jan. 24 at the Atwater APC Hall, 1420 Third St. Social hour starts at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7. There will be a raffle with prizes including Monterey Bay Aquarium tickets and a big-screen television. Tickets are $45 and can be obtained from Mike Carpenter, (209) 384-0727, Peraino Jewlers, or the Merced Antique Mall.
