Harmed Brothers
Portland indie-grass folk rock group the Harmed Brothers will perform at 9 p.m. Saturday at The Partisan, 432 W. Main St. Also scheduled is Tom VandenAvond. Tickets are $5 at the door. Must be 21 or older to attend.
Church revival
Atwater Christian Life Center will hold a revival at 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Duane Brookshier of Truth Tabernacle from Hemet. For more information, call (209) 358-1988. The church is at 1200 Shaffer Road.
Sierra Club program
At the next Merced Sierra Club program at 7 p.m. Jan. 15, Linda Lagace will give a presentation on “Birds of the Merced Wildlife Refuge.” The public is invited to the event at Merced United Methodist Church, 899 Yosemite Parkway. For more information, please call (209) 723-4747.
Pancake breakfast
Merced Elks Park will hold its monthly pancake breakfast from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Jan. 19 at the Merced Elks Lodge, 1910 M St. The menu includes pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs and fruit with orange juice or coffee. Donations are $6 adults, $3 children. All proceeds benefit Merced Elks Park projects. Bloody marys will also be offered. For more information, call (209) 761-6801.
Pruning workshop
The Atwater Garden Club will have a free rose pruning workshop 10 a.m. to noon Jan. 24 at the Bloss Memorial Rose Garden at Cedar and Second streets in Atwater. There will be a rose pruning demonstration and practice session. Anyone wanting rose clippings should bring a container or bag. Bring pruning shears and gloves. There will also be a free drawing. Crab feed
The second annual Merced High School FFA Crab Feed will be held Jan. 31 at the school gym. Doors open at 5 p.m., with a silent auction at 5:30 p.m. and dinner at 6 p.m. There will also be a dessert auction and a live auction. The event is the FFA chapter’s largest fundraiser. The proceeds are used for out-of-area FFA trips, leadership conferences and chapter supplies. Tickets are $45 each. Mental illness
National Alliance on Mental Illness Merced County is offering “Family-to-Family,” a 12-week class for people who care for or about someone with a serious mental illness. Family members and friends learn about the brain, what happens when mental illness strikes, getting care for their loved one and support for themselves, medications, communicating and many other aspects that will help them get through this traumatic situation. One class is offered in English and the other in Spanish. The classes begin at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 15.
