Merced County Women Federated

The February meeting of Merced County Republican Women Federated will convene Feb. 15 at the Branding Iron, 640 W. 16th Street. Social time begins at 11:30 a.m. and lunch will be served at noon. Reservations made are reservations paid per the group’s arrangement with the restaurant. The speaker will be Linda Phillips, the first female Strategic Air Command instructor pilot, doing training at Castle Air Force Base. Reservations are required by Thursday. National Association for Uniformed Services meeting

The National Association for Uniformed Services, H. Wayne Hein Chapter 18, will meet Feb. 20 at 10 a.m. at the Castle Air Museum Banquet Room. St. Paul Lutheran Kindergarten Roundup

Kindergarten Roundup at St. Paul Lutheran School will be held in the kindergarten classroom on Feb. 21 at 1:30 p.m. The event will allow parents to review curriculum information and to find out about enrollment procedures, the kindergarten readiness assessment and other information. Registration will open to the public on Feb. 25.

Mature driver improvement class

The Merced College noncredit program is offering a mature driver improvement class in February. Many insurance companies offer discounts to drivers 50 and older who complete this course. The class will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 25 at Merced College.

Genealogical Society meeting

Dr. Stephen Morse, famous computer inventor, professor, author and researcher, will present a case study using One-Step Webpages and other websites to develop a family history. The presentation will show how to obtain records in spite of name misspellings, and how to avoid accepting wrong information. Join the Merced County Genealogical Society in the Gracey Room at the Merced County Library, 2100 O Street, at 1 p.m. Feb. 27. The meeting is open to all; no membership is required.
