Grief group

Book signing at museum

Author Herb Wood, who wrote “Ghost Towns of Merced County,” will be signing his newly released memoir, “Off the Beaten Path: A Collection of Personal Stories,” at 4:30 p.m. March 5 at the Merced County Courthouse Museum, N and 21st streets. Bunco and lunch

The Livingston-Delhi Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary plans a lunch and Bunco Bash at 11 a.m. March 12 at Livingston Veterans Memorial Hall, 1605 Seventh St., Livingston. ‘Look Good Feel Better’

“Look Good Feel Better,” a free two-hour workshop for female cancer patients experiencing appearance-related side effects from their treatment, will be held held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. the second Monday of every month at Mercy UC Davis Cancer Center, 3850 G St. The next one is March 14. The center offers a number of other programs for cancer survivors. For more information, call 209-564-3600.

‘Heart for Art’

The California Retired Teachers group plans “Heart for Art” at 10:30 a.m. March 17 at the Multicultural Arts Center, 645 W. Main St. The presenters will offer lessons on collage and watercolors. Old Timers

The Merced County Old Timer Association is looking for individuals to honor at its 74th annual Old Timers Luncheon. Family members, friends or the qualifying individual may submit applications. Good Friday dinner

Club Mercedes plans a dinner from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Good Friday, March 25, at the club, 569 W. Ninth St. Cost is $12 per person. The meal will be chile relleno, beans, rice, tortillas and salsa. Volleyball for kids

The city of Merced’s recreation department and the DuPont Volleyball Academy are taking registrations for a youth volleyball camp to be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. during spring break, March 28 through April 1. The camp offers classes for beginners in first through fourth grades to learn and improve their skills. The cost is $45. Registration deadline is March 18. Indoor soccer

The city of Merced’s recreation department and the Indoor Sports Center will offer indoor youth soccer on Saturdays from April 2 through May 21, for ages 3 through 10, at the center, 115 Heron Way. ‘Dancing for Birth’

Merced College Community Services plans several “Dancing for Birth” classes for pregnant women, new moms and newborns. Four sessions are offered from February through June for classes that run from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Each session is $25. For more information, call the community services office at 209-384-6224.
