Youth Council

Pub crawl
Merced Art Hop plans a St. Patrick’s Day-themed pub crawl fundraiser from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday on Main Street in downtown. Tickets are $20. You must be 21 to participate in the crawl, which includes games and drink specials. For more information, go to http://mercedarthop.org or call 209-658-2587.
Track meet
Minds in Motion youth track club is taking sign-ups for an all-day meet Saturday. The meet features races among young people and law enforcement officers. Entry is free. For more information, go to www.btgusa.org.
College concert
The Merced College Concert Band, with conductor Ken Taylor, will perform at 7:30 p.m. March 18 at Merced College Theater, 3600 M St. Tickets are $10 general, $8 for students, senior citizens, military personnel and college employees. For more information, go to www.mccd.edu/thearts.
Volleyball for kids
The city of Merced’s recreation department and the DuPont Volleyball Academy are taking registrations for a youth volleyball camp to be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. during spring break, March 28 through April 1. The camp offers classes for beginners in first through fourth grade to learn and improve their skills. The cost is $45. Registration deadline is March 18. Google chat
The National Association for Uniformed Services, H. Wayne Hein Chapter 18, will meet at 10 a.m. March 19 at the Castle Air Museum banquet room, 5050 Santa Fe Drive, Atwater. Genealogical Society meeting
The Merced County Genealogical Society will hear from Kathryn Marshall, director of the Lodi California Family History Center, at 1 p.m. March 19 in the Gracey Room of the Merced County Library, 2100 O St. Marshall will demonstrate software and websites that identify and map ancestral locations and other mapping tools. Membership is not required.
Merced Sunday dance
The Senior Community Center will host a dance from 2 to 5 p.m. March 20 at the center, 755 W. 15th St. Music by We Three band. Anyone 18 and older is welcome. Cost is $8. For more information, call 209-723-0839 or 209-628-8734.
Good Friday dinner
Club Mercedes has set a dinner from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Good Friday, March 25, at the club, 569 W. Ninth St. Cost is $12 per person. Meal is chile rellenos, beans, rice, tortillas and salsa. ‘Macbeth’
