Cottonwood Creek concert
Americana/country group Cottonwood Creek will perform at 7 p.m. Friday at the Vista Ranch and Cellars, 7326 E. Highway 140. Admission is free.
First Merced Art Hop of year
The first Merced Art Hop of the year will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Dozens of businesses will host artists in or outside stores on Main Street, generally between Martin Luther King Jr. Way and N Street. Outdoor light and craft exhibits, as well as music, will also be on display. For more information, go to www.mercedarthop.org.
Mariposa Art Co. exhibit
The Mariposa Art Co. on Saturday will host “Loyalty and Integrity” – an art exhibition featuring local tattoo shop Restless Valley Ink. Works featured will include paintings and photography by Jason Rios, Bobby Salinas, Juno Ku, J.D. McCarthy, Ricky Gutierrez and Repo1911. The opening night will take place during the Merced Art Hop from 7 to 11 p.m. and the exhibit will be available through Feb. 6. Mariposa Art Co. is at 1637 M St. in Merced. Admission is free. Elks Park pancake breakfast
Merced Elks Park is holding its monthly pancake breakfast from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the Merced Elks Lodge, 1910 M St. The menu includes pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs and fruit with orange juice or coffee. Donation is $6 for adults; $3 for children. All proceeds benefit Merced Elks Park projects. Bloody marys will also be offered, For more information, call (209) 761-6801.
Santo Nino de Cebu celebration
The Santo Nino de Cebu celebration began in Livingston 27 years ago and is an annual religious and cultural event. For more than 4 1/2 centuries, the Image of Santo Nino, the child Jesus, continues to be celebrated in the Philippines and in Filipino communities in the United States. The 27th annual Santo Nino de Cebu celebration is scheduled for Sunday and begins with Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 330 Franci St., in Livingston. After Mass, there will be a procession to the church reception hall. Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. Tickets may be purchased at the door. Adults are $7; ages 7 to 12 are $3. Baptist church luncheon
Atwater Baptist Church will hold a Keen-Ager’s Luncheon at noon on Jan. 21. Guest speaker will be Shar Herrera, executive director of Merced County Court Appointed Special Advocates. Herrera will share information and answer questions about the role of local citizens in the efforts of CASA. The church is at 2124 First St. in Atwater. Lunch is potluck and the community is invited. Senior center social dance
The January Social Dance will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Jan. 25 at the Merced Senior Community Center, 755 W. 15th St. Just Friends will play waltz, swing, foxtrot, Latin and polka music. Doors open at 1 p.m., and there will be a rumba lesson at 1:15. Cost is $8 per person, and refreshments will be available. For more information, call (209) 723-0839.
