Tea party meeting
The Atwater-Merced Tea Party will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Atwater VFW Memorial Hall, 1390 Broadway Ave. Peter Friedman, who makes public appearances and speaks on radio shows, will discuss Muslim resettlement in the U.S. There is no cost to attend the meeting. Food sustainability
UC Merced will host Fedele Bauccio, CEO and co-founder of Bon Appetit Management Co., at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the California Room of the campus, 5200 N. Lake Road. Sierra club meeting

College concert
The Merced College Concert Band, with conductor Ken Taylor, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Merced College Theater, 3600 M St. Tickets are $10 general; $8 for students, senior citizens, military personnel and college employees. For more information, go to www.mccd.edu/thearts.
Casino trip
The Native Daughters of the Golden West plan a Black Oak Casino bus trip on Saturday. It will depart from the Walmart parking lot at 8:30 a.m. and return at approximately 4 p.m. Cost is $25 per person. For more information, call Marla at 209-724-9617.

The National Association for Uniformed Services, H. Wayne Hein Chapter 18, will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Castle Air Museum Banquet Room, 5050 Santa Fe Drive. Plant sale
Merced College will hold its annual plant sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 26 at the greenhouses of the college, 3600 M St. There will be tomatoes, peppers, vegetables, herbs, perennials, succulents, and fruit and shade trees, among other plants. Fill a bag
The Friends of the Merced County Library plan a spring sale called “Fill a Bag,” where shoppers can fill a bag with books for $3. The sale has begun at the main branch, 2100 O St., which opens at 10 a.m. Monday through Saturday but is closed Sunday. For more information, call the library at 209-385-7484.
