Meetings with Gray

Assemblyman Adam Gray, D-Merced, will host public coffee meetings where constituents can speak with him in a casual setting about state and legislative issues that affect the community. Gray plans a meeting in Los Banos at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Eddie’s Famous Cafe, 401 W. Pacheco Blvd, and a Dos Palos meeting at noon the same day at Mom and Pop’s Diner. An Atwater coffee meeting is 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Brooks Ranch, 975 Bellevue Road, and Livingston’s meeting is noon to 1 p.m. the same day at Foster Farms Cafe, 221 Stefani Ave. For more or to RSVP, call Gray’s Modesto office at 209-521-2111 or Merced office at 209-726-5465.

Art class

The class “An Evening with the Artist: Cezanne, Renoir and Van Gogh” will be Thursdays, April 7-21, at Merced College from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in classroom Art 7. Cost is $45 per person. For more information, call 209-384-6224 or register at www.mercedcommunityservices.com.

Easter event

Last Hope Cat Kingdom is planning an Easter event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Walmart, 3055 Loughborough Drive in Merced. Vendors will sell baskets, baked goods and offer photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny. Proceeds will support Last Hope Cat Kingdom, a no-kill animal shelter. Gospel concert

The Parks family from Branson, Mo., will perform Southern gospel music with a country flavor from 10 a.m. to noon Sunday at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, 1704 Merced Ave. For more information, call the church at 209-384-2319.

Badminton class

Chowchilla town hall

The Chowchilla City Council plans a public town hall-style meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 29s at the Chowchilla Senior Center, 820 W. Golf tourney

The Merced High School Baseball Dugout Club is planning to hold the seventh annual Grant Kuhr Memorial Golf Tournament at noon April 9 at Merced Golf and Country Club, 6333 Golf Road. Tee off at 1 p.m. All proceeds will go to the high school’s baseball program. Registration fee is $125 and is due by April 1. For more information, call Kara Parle at 209-769-5272.

Rescue Mission dinner

The Merced County Rescue Mission is planning to hold its Oasis Benefit Dinner at 5:30 p.m. May 13 at Gateway Community Church, 353 E. Donna Drive. Tickets are $35, or $250 for a table of eight. Tickets are available at www.eventbrite.com.
