Recreation forum

The Merced Recreation and Parks Commission is looking for input from members of the community on the city’s recreation programs during a meeting from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Sound Life International Ministries, 928 W. Main St. The group plans to get community responses with roundtable discussions by all participants. For more information, call the Parks and Community Services department at (209) 385-6235.

Homeless census

Merced City and County Continuum of Care will have its annual Point in Time street count from 6 to 9 a.m Thursday. The street count is a requirement for Department of Housing and Urban Development funding and is part of the group’s 10-year plan to eliminate homelessness in Merced County. All communities in Merced County are encouraged to participate, as the process will help each area get help to those who need it most. An orientation will be given from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Sam Pipes Room at Merced City Hall, 18th and N streets. Kenn-Ager’s Luncheon

Atwater Baptist Church will hold a Keen-Ager’s Luncheon at noon Wednesday. Guest speaker will be Shar Herrera, executive director of Merced County Court Appointed Special Advocates. Herrera will share information and answer questions about the role of local citizens in the efforts of CASA. The church is at 2124 First St. in Atwater.
