MAGA golf tourney

The Merced MAGA Golf Tournament registration is required by April 10 for the 9 a.m. April 17 tourney at Atwater’s Rancho Del Rey Golf Course, 5250 Green Sands Ave. Entries should be sent to Merced MAGA P.O. LB academy

The Los Banos Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Merced College Customer Service Academy will offer a workshop on “Communication in the Workplace” from 8 a.m. to noon April 6, and again from 1 to 5 p.m. the same day at the Merced College Los Banos Campus, 22240 Highway 152. LBHS reunion

The Los Banos High School Class of 1976 has set the date for its 40th class reunion for Nov. 12 at M&M Restaurant in Los Banos. The festivities will begin the day before at the neighboring La Quinta. Behavioral Health Board

The next Merced County Behavioral Health Board meeting is from 3 to 5 p.m. April 5 in the county building at 1137 B St., and is open to the public. For more, call 209-381-6805.

Rescue Mission dinner

Merced County Rescue Mission plans its Oasis Benefit Dinner at 5:30 p.m. May 13 at Gateway Community Church, 353 E. Donna Drive. Tickets are $35, or $250 for a table of eight. Tickets are available at www.eventbrite.com.

Chowchilla town hall

Chowchilla City Council plans a public town hall-style meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, at Chowchilla Senior Center, 820 W. Robertson Blvd. The meeting will focus on planning for the city budget. Adult literacy tutors

The Merced County Literacy Program plans orientation and training for volunteers who would like to become tutors in Merced and surrounding counties. Orientation is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. April 19 at the Merced County Library, 2100 O St. Training is from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. April 22 at the library. Miss Madera

Applications are now available for the 2016 Chowchilla-Madera County Fair Pageant on May 18. There are three categories: Miss Madera County, Little Miss Madera County, and the Tommyhawk Contest. Application packets are available at the Chowchilla Fairgrounds office, 1000 S. Third St., as well as online at www.Chowchillafair.org. They must be submitted by 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 29.

Rummage sale

A rummage sale to benefit Hmong ministries is set from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at St. Paul Lutheran Church library, 2916 N. McKee Road. Items for the sale can be donated between 6 and 8 p.m. on Friday, April 1, at the Parish Hall of the church. Volunteers are also needed. Call Jan at 209-769-1884.
