Crazy for Cupcakes

Valley chorus
The Merced Harmony Valley Chorus will begin practices on patriotic songs at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays from April 5 to April 26 at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 1455 E. Green Tour
The seventh annual Green Tour is 1-5 p.m. April 3 at the home of Jean Okuye, 10181 Olive Ave. in Livingston. It covers drought-tolerant gardening, a tour of the straw bale house and information on local solar companies. The University of California Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners and East Merced Resource Conservation District will be on hand. A local foods dinner at 5:30 p.m. is available by reservation only. Denim Day buttons
The Valley Crisis Center is observing Sexual Assault Awareness Month in April by asking for a $5 donation before Denim Day on April 27. Everyone who donates gets a $5 “Denim Day” button. For more, call the center at (209) 725-7900 or go to www.valleycrisiscenter.org.
Golf for all ages

YosemiTea Party
The 21st annual Tea Party in the Historic Courtroom at the Courthouse Museum is 12:30-4 p.m. April 9 in the museum at the corner of N and 21st streets. “YosemiTea Party” is this year’s theme. There will be four seatings: 12:30, 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30, which will each last for 40 minutes. Ticket prices are $15 for adults and $10 for children 10 and younger. The Merced County Board of Supervisors is accepting nominations for exemplary volunteers within the community. All nomination forms must be received by 5 p.m. April 1. LB lecture series
The Los Banos Milliken Museum’s third annual Charles Sawyer Memorial Lecture is 5:30 p.m. March 30 at the Ted Falasco Arts center, 1105 Fifth St. A reception with wine and appetizers starts the night off. Tickets are $10 and available at the door. For more, call (209) 826-5505.
Moto blessing
The Sons of Thunder CMC will hold their 13th annual Bike Blessing at 10 a.m. April 16. Sign-ups are 8:30 a.m.-9:45 a.m. at 650 E. Olive Ave. in Merced. The blessing will be followed by a ride and barbeque at Henderson Park in Snelling. For more, call Keith Kimbro at (209) 947-5269.
