Onramp closure

As part of a project on state Department of Transportation utility work, the Atwater Boulevard onramp to southbound Highway 99 will be closed from 9 p.m. Monday through 5 a.m. the next morning. For more information, call KRC Safety Co. at 559-732-0393.

Volunteer nominations

The Merced County Board of Supervisors has extended its deadline for nominations for exemplary volunteers within the community. All nomination forms must be received by 5 p.m. Tuesday. Kids golf

The fourth season of The First Tee will begin at 5:45 p.m. April 13 at Merced Golf and Country Club, 6333 N. Golf Road. The Sunday classes take place at 1 p.m., and the session continues nine weeks for ages 5 to 17. Cost is $90 per child and $50 for the second child in a family. Scholarships are available. World Dance

NAUS meeting

The National Association for Uniformed Services, H. Wayne Hein Chapter 18, will meet at 10 a.m. April 16 at Castle Air Museum Banquet Room, 5050 Santa Fe Drive. Enchilada sale

Club Mercedes’ annual enchilada sale will be from 2 to 5 p.m. April 16 at the hall, 569 W. Ninth St. Ground beef enchiladas in corn or flour tortillas are $15 per dozen. Advance purchases are preferred. Beans or rice are $5 per container. Proceeds benefit the club's youth baseball sponsorship and college endowment fund. Quilters guild

Gateway Quilters’ Guild is a nonprofit in Merced County that meets at 7 p.m. the third Monday each month. Anyone is welcome to join the next meeting, April 18, at Merced County Health Department, 260 E. 15th St. For more information, call Barbara Scott at 209-658-7227.

Denim Day buttons

The Valley Crisis Center is observing Sexual Assault Awareness Month in April by asking for a $5 donation before Denim Day on April 27. Everyone who donates gets a $5 Denim Day button. For more information, call the center at 209-725-7900 or go to www.valleycrisiscenter.org.
