Soccer camp
The Livingston Recreation Department is sponsoring the Challenger British Soccer Camp for children ages 3 to 12 June 13-17 at the Max Foster Sports Complex, 2600 Walnut Ave. in Livingston. Price is $30-$50 and time is 5-8 p.m. depending on the child’s age. Includes a soccer ball and T-shirt. Citizens academy
The deadline to apply for the Citizens Police Academy in Merced has been extended to 4 p.m. Monday. Between 20 to 25 residents will be able to participate in an 11-week program. The Citizens Police Academy session begins Wednesday and meetings are held from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays. Genealogical Society
Merced County Genealogical Society plans a meeting to discuss “digital assets” and organizing information. April’s guest speaker is Sharon Hawley-Crum, who will explain how to outline a five-step digital asset estate planning process at 1 p.m. April 16 in the Gracey Room of the Merced County Library, 2100 O St. The meeting is open to all; no membership is required.
Jazz Day at UC
Mercy Lit Up! In Celebration of International Jazz Day 2016 features the Ernie Bucio Little Big Band at 7 p.m. April 29 in UC Merced Lakireddy Auditorium COB 102 at UC Merced, 5200 N. Lake Road. Pet adoption event
Merced Society of the Prevention of Cruelty of Animals plans an adoption event noon-3 p.m. Saturday at the Petco store, 1230 Commerce Ave. in Atwater. From now through Aug. 31, all cats older than a year may be adopted for $30 each at the Merced SPCA, which is less than half the normal rate. Cats younger than a year are the regular fee of $70. The Merced Peripheral Neuropathy Support Group’s next meeting is 1 p.m. April 14 at the Hoffmeister Center, 1920 Canal St. in Merced.
