Mother’s Day Mariachi

Bicycle ride
The Merced City Director’s Ride will be at 10 a.m. April 23 beginning at Coffee Bandits, 309 W. Main St. Sign-ups for the 7.5-mile bike ride are from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Refreshments will be available at the halfway point of Rahilly Park and a free drawing for several bike-related prizes will occur at the end of the ride. Los Banos chamber mixer
The Los Banos Chamber of Commerce’s February mixer will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. April 21 at the Los Banos Salvation Army, 1231 Fourth St., The meeting is in conjunction with Relay for Life. For more information, call the chamber at 209-826-2495.
Earth Day events at park

Young Writers Academy
The Bobcat Young Writers Academy, offering children an opportunity to visit UC Merced and grow as writers, will be from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Mondays through Thursdays from June 20-30 at the campus, 5200 N. Sierra Club to meet

The Los Banos High School Class of 1976 has set the date for its 40th class reunion for Nov. 12 at M&M Restaurant in Los Banos. The festivities will begin the day before at the neighboring La Quinta. The Merced Peripheral Neuropathy Support Group’s next meeting is 1 p.m. Thursday at the Hoffmeister Center, 1920 Canal Street in Merced. Enchilada sale
Club Mercedes’ annual enchilada sale is 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the hall, 569 W. Ninth St. in Merced. Ground beef enchiladas in corn or flour tortillas are $15 per dozen. Advance purchases are preferred. Beans or rice are $5 per container. Proceeds benefit the club’s youth baseball sponsorship and college endowment fund.
