Chicken salad
The Atwater Women’s Club has set its annual Connie Corvelo’s Famous Chicken Salad Luncheon for 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. May 4 at the clubhouse, 1201 Grove Ave. in Atwater. Behavioral health

Tea Party meets
David Rogers, a candidate for the House seat representing the 16th Congressional District, will give his views and discuss current events at a meeting of the Merced Tea Party Patriots, which meets every third Thursday. This month’s gathering is 6:30-8:30 p.m. April 21 at the Atwater VFW Memorial Hall, 1390 Broadway in Atwater.
Free computer class
The Merced College noncredit program is offering a free beginning computer class from 9 a.m.-noon every Friday through May 27 at the college’s Education Center, near G Street and University Drive. NAUS meets
The National Association for Uniformed Services, H. Wayne Hein Chapter 18, will meet 10 a.m. Saturday at the Castle Air Museum Banquet Room, 5050 Santa Fe Drive. Pet adoption event
The Merced Society for the Prevention of Cruelty of Animals is offering a discount through Aug. 31 for all cats older than 1 year. They may be adopted for $30 each at the Merced SPCA, which is less than half the normal rate. Cats younger than 1 year can be adopted for the regular fee of $70. Garden tours
