‘Denim Day’ buttons
The Valley Crisis Center is observing Sexual Assault Awareness Month in April by asking for a $5 donation before “Denim Day” on April 27. Everyone who donates gets a $5 “Denim Day” button. Ribs for Relay
The fourth annual Ribs for Relay barbecue dinner is 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Merced Fruit Barn, 526 E. Highway 140. Half of the proceeds go to the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. The dinner includes all-you-can-eat beef and pork ribs, Portuguese beans, salad, roll and drink for $25. Takeout is available. For tickets, call 209-722-2921.
OpenGov class

Earth Day events at park
Merced’s Earth Day event is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Applegate Park at 25th and R streets. It is a free family event in front of Applegate Park Zoo. For more information, call 209-385-6978 or go to www.cityofmerced.org.
Pork rib dinner
The Mariposa County Farm Bureau plans a pork rib dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Stagg Hall, 2884 Bear Valley Road in Hornitos. The dinner comes with a side of salad, beans, rolls and dessert for $15. Organizers plan to raffle guns. Tickets may be purchased from the Farm Bureau, 5117 Bullion St., or by calling 209-742-5875 or emailing mcfarmbureau@sti.net.
Sunday dance
