Karaoke and pizza

Merced LGBT Karaoke and Pizza Night is 6-10 p.m. Friday at LGBT Community Center, 1744 G St., Suite H. It’s $12 for adults, $10 for students and $4 children younger than 8. Those younger than 2 get in free. Call 209-626-5551.

‘Oz’ in Atwater

Mitchell Senior Middle School’s drama department will perform a 40-minute play, “The Wizard of Oz,” at 8 p.m. Friday in the cafeteria, 1753 Fifth St. in Atwater. Doors open at 7 p.m. Admission is $1, and proceeds go to the drama program.

Free concert

The Merced Youth Council is sponsoring a free music festival called Undivided Youth Fest from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in Applegate Park’s MOAT, near O and 26th streets. All-Merced Ride

The seventh annual All-Merced Road Ride for experienced cyclists is 9 a.m. Sunday. Registration begins at 8 a.m. at Kevin’s Bikes, 60 W. Olive Ave. Cyclists also can register at www.mercedbicyclecoalition.org. The ride features three distance options on routes that are local favorites. Helmets are required, and anyone under 18 must ride with an adult or have adult-signed permission.

Ramp closure

A PG&E project will close the Atwater Boulevard off-ramp from southbound Highway 99 from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. May 3.

Bike to Work

People are asked to try to go without a car and join the two-wheel crowd for at least one day during Bike to Work and School Day on May 5. Five so-called “energizer stations” are planned around town at different times to offer free food, drinks, T-shirts and goodies to bicycling commuters. Mother’s Day

The Odd Fellows of LaFayette Historical Lodge #65 plan a Mother’s Day breakfast 8-11 a.m. May 8 at the IOOF Hall in La Grange, 30018 Yosemite Blvd. Cost is $6 for anyone older than 12, $3 for children 7 to 12 and younger than 7 eat free. La Grange arts

A showcase of local art, jewelry, sewn creations and other goodies is 10 a.m.-3 p.m. June 18 at IOOF Hall in La Grange, 30018 Yosemite Blvd. Admission is free. Vendor spots of 6 feet by 8 feet are available for $25. For more, call Patty 209-604-4444 or Amanda 209-988-0934.

Pet adoption event

Merced SPCA will offer a discount through Aug. 31 for all cats older than a year, which may be adopted for $30. Cats younger than a year are the regular fee of $70. For more, go to www.mercedspca.com or look for “SPCA Merced” on Facebook.
