Merced College retirees

The Merced College Retired Women monthly luncheon will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at La Hacienda 2, 3355 G St. in Merced. Join us for this monthly no-host luncheon. No RSVP required.

Printmaking reception

The reception for the 10th annual Arts Merced printmaking exhibit will be at 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday on the second floor of the Multicultural Arts Center, 645 W. Main St. in Merced. The reception is free and open to the public. The featured printmakers are Elizabeth Fedora, Francis Grondalski, Cynthia Millions, Carole Nelson, Herlinde Spahr and Henriette Sparkman. Appetizer night

Soroptimist International of Merced will hold its 42nd annual hors d’oeuvres festival Friday night. This year’s theme is “Rhythms of the Night.” Shuttle service will begin at 5:15 p.m. from the Merced Mall parking lot F. Shuttles will take guests to the event at 2870 Rambler Lane. The event will go from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Event tickets are $35 and raffle tickets are $5. Call 209-769-4981 to buy tickets.

Kids opera

The Merced County Office of Education, Arts UC Merced Presents and the Betty Scalice Foundation will present “W.O.O.S.H. (Web of Opera Super Heroes),” a children’s mini-opera, at 10 a.m. May 21 in Lakireddy Auditorium at UC Merced. Cost for the public performance is $5 for adults and $3 for children. Tickets will be available at the door beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Mural walk

Mariposa Art Company will host a downtown mural walk followed by a free watercolor class from 2-4 p.m. May 21. Email mariposaartcompany@gmail.com or visit www.mariposaartcompany.com to register. Rahilly Park

Merced’s Parks and Recreation Department will offer a summer playground program Mondays through Fridays from June 6-July 29 at Rahilly Park, 3400 Parsons Ave. It is $15 a week, and an additional $10 for extra family members. Kids volleyball camp

A volleyball camp for children is set for 9-11 a.m. June 27-10 at El Capitan High School, 100 Farmland Ave. It’s open to kindergarten to eighth-grade students and will cost $40. Register at the door or contact Kim Carrillo at 209-777-0893.

Lutheran school

St. Paul Lutheran School is enrolling children in preschool through sixth grade for the 2016-17 school year. The school offers financial aid for families who cannot afford tuition. A substantial amount of financial aid for new students has just been made available, according to the school’s staff. Find out more about the school at 2916 N. Coupons for seniors

The 2016 Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program coupon booklets can be redeemed at specific certified farmers markets only and are available to low-income seniors 60 and older.
