LB job fair
Merced County Workforce Investment, also called Worknet, plans a job fair 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday in the exhibit hall of Los Banos Fairgrounds, 403 F St. About 35 employers will be involved in the fair. Organizers recommend registering at www.caljobs.ca.gov before the fair, and picking up a new CalJOBS card at any Worknet location. AARP meets
The May AARP meeting will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Merced Senior Community Center, 755 W. 15th St. Our programs this year arranged by President Ray Young were designed to be musical treats. This month includes the Sweet Adelines International, whose members recently celebrated their 50th anniversary in Merced. Complementary refreshments will be served. All current members of AARP are urged to attend and bring a guest.
Hamburger night
The Monthly Family Hamburger Night will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Livingston Veterans Memorial Hall, 1605 Seventh St. in Livingston. The sandwich prices range from $3.50 to $4.50, and chili is $2. Soda or water is $1. Coffee is complementary. All sandwiches come with a choice of potato salad or green salad. You do not have to be a member to attend this event. Masons meal
Yosemite Gateway Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star plans a fundraiser rigatoni dinner 5:30-7 p.m. Friday at the Merced Masonic Center, 1810 M St. in Merced. Menudo meal
Club Mercedes will serve menudo 8 a.m.-noon May 29 at the club, 569 W. Ninth St. A baby bowl is $4, medium is $8 and large is $9. Quesadillas are $1.50 each. Baseball drive
A missionary group traveling to Somoto, Nicaragua, in June is collecting new or used baseball equipment, such as gloves, bats, balls and cleats. Equipment donations may be dropped off at Ekizian Family Chiropractic Office, 790 Loughborough Drive in Merced by June 1. For more, call 209-261-8459.
