Pet and yard sale
Merced’s SPCA plans a yard sale and adoption event 7:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the no-kill shelter, 1021 E. Childs Ave. in Merced. Proceeds from the yard sale benefit Merced SPCA. Donations are tax-deductible. Until Aug. 31, adoption fees for cats older than 1 year are $30 each, while kittens are $70. Adult dogs are $100 and puppies are $120. Animal fundraiser
New Beginnings for Merced County Animals plans a fundraiser 8-9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Merced Applebee’s, 1734 W. Olive Ave. Take-out is also available. Tickets are $7.50 and may be purchased at Valley Animal Hospital, 58 W. 16th St., Christina’s Fine Clothing, 2852 G St., or Santa Fe Pet Hospital at 3113 N. Beachwood Drive. La Grange breakfast
Breakfast at the IOOF Hall in La Grange is the second Sunday of each month, and the next is 8-11 a.m. June 12 at the IOOF Hall, 30018 Yosemite Blvd. in La Grange.
