Fair concerts

Kids classes

Arts & Spirits
The Merced County Arts Council and Arbor Gallery plans Art & Spirits on the third Friday of each month. The next evening of wine and painting is 5:30-8:30 p.m. June 17. Dance fest
The Festival of Dance begins at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 16, at Merced College Theater, 3600 M St. The first show features Dancers’ Studio, and several more shows are planned. Tickets are $10 general, $8 for youths, students, seniors and military personnel. For more, call 209-381-6470.
Guerilla art
Mariposa Art Company will host a free Guerilla Gardening Flower Bomb workshop from 6-7:30 p.m. June 17 at 658 W. 20th St. in Merced. To register, email mariposaartcompany@gmail.com or visit www.mariposaartcompany.com. Seating is limited. The workshop is for all ages.
‘Lost’ audition
Merced Shakes has set auditions for its 2016 summer play, the comedy “Love’s Labour’s Lost,” at 10:30 a.m. June 18 at Merced Multicultural Arts Center, 645 W. Main St. in Merced. At least 18 actors and actresses are needed. There will be cold reading of scenes; a prepared Shakespearean monologue is welcome, but not mandatory. Performances will be outdoors in September. Solstice fest
Sierra Tel presents 2016 Sounds of Solstice Music Festival set to begin at 2 p.m. June 18 at the Oakhurst Community Park in Oakhurst. Movie in the park
The Merced Parks and Recreation Department will show “Goosebumps” at dusk on Friday, June 24, at McNamara Park, 1040 Canal St. The event is free and open to the public. Staffers recommend viewers bring chairs, a blanket or something else to sit on. For more, call 209-385-6232.
