Animal event

Tractor Supply Co., 1700 Bell Lane in Atwater, will host local animal groups from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday to encourage pet adoptions and support families raising pets and livestock. La Grange breakfast

Breakfast at the IOOF Hall in La Grange will be served from 8 to 11 a.m. Sunday. The hall is at 30018 Yosemite Blvd. The meal includes biscuits and gravy, sausage, ham-and-cheese omelets and French toast. Music therapy

Merced College is offering a free, non-credit concert band course called “Music Therapy for Older Adults” from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays through July 14, in Room 2 of the college’s Music Building. The campus is at 3600 M St. For more information, call 209-381-6541.

Guerrilla art

Secret War talk

The National Association for Uniformed Services will meet at 10 a.m. June 18 at the Castle Air Museum Banquet Room, 5050 Santa Fe Drive, Atwater. Republican women

Merced County Republican Women Federated will meet at 11:30 a.m. June 20 at the Branding Iron Restaurant, 640 W. 16th St. Former U.S. Rep. George Radanovich of Mariposa will be the speaker. Family trees

The Merced County Genealogical Society welcomes Kathy Burrow, a genealogy enthusiast assisting others with their family trees for more than 40 years, as a guest speaker this month. Her topic is “Family History for the Adopted Child” at 1 p.m. June 18 at the Merced County Library, 2100 O St. The meetings are open to all; no membership required.

Sunday dance

This month’s Sunday dance will be from 2 to 5 p.m. June 26 at the Merced Senior Community Center, 755 W. 15th St. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. Music is by Gloria and Friends. Cost is $8, which includes refreshments and door prizes. For more information, call 209-723-0839 or 209-628- 9734.
