Merced High FFA crab feed

The Merced High School FFA crab feed is tonight at the Merced High gym. Doors open at 5 p.m., followed by a silent auction at 5:30 and dinner at 6. As part of the dinner, there will be a dessert auction and a live auction. Proceeds are used for out-of-area FFA trips, leadership conferences and chapter supplies. Tickets are $45 each. Buhach High crab feed

The Buhach High School Music Boosters is having its Crab Feast tonight at the Merced County Fairgrounds Pavilion Building. Social hour starts at 5:30 p.m., the auction is 7:30 to 8:45 p.m., and dancing is 9 p.m. until midnight. Tickets are $45 per person or $320 for a table of eight. River Partners seeks volunteers

River Partners needs volunteers at Great Valley Grasslands State Park today to help spread native grass seed. It’s a great opportunity for college students looking for volunteer hours or for the general public to get outdoors and help the environment. Dress in layers. Waterproof boots recommended to keep your feet dry, but not necessary. Meet at 9 a.m. at the Fremont Ford boat launch parking lot, 23858 Highway 140 in Stevinson. Super Bowl party

There will be a Super Bowl party at 3 p.m. Sunday at the American Legion, 939 W. Main St., Merced. Finger foods, free raffle drinks. Bring your best potluck food. Kickoff is 4 p.m. Wear your team jersey and root for your team.

Historical Society meeting

The Merced County Historical Society will hold its annual membership meeting at 2 p.m. Feb. 8 inside the Merced County Board of Supervisors chambers at the County Administration Building, 2222 M St. Officers will be installed, and several awards will be presented. This year’s keynote speaker is San Joaquin Valley historian and author William B. Secrest Jr. The meeting is free and open.

Singing telegrams for Valentine’s Day

The Golden Valley Chorus will present “Singing Valengrams” in Merced, Modesto and other local communities. For $40, a barbershop quartet will sing a love song to your sweetheart. New downtown art exhibit

Mariposa Art Company will host “Love Reigns,” an art exhibition by Eddie and Jes Garcia. Opening night is Feb. 7 from 7 p.m. until close at 1637 M St., Merced. Free. Valentine’s social in Livingston

The Livingston United Methodist Church will hold its annual Valentine’s social potluck at noon Feb. 8 in the Pioneer Hall. Everyone is invited. Bring your favorite soup, bread or side dish to share.
