Zoo camp
Merced Applegate Zoo will be having two zoo camp sessions this summer at the Rossotti Center. The first, for ages 6-9, is from Monday to Friday; the other, for ages 10-12, is July 18-22. Each session is 9 a.m.-noon and will be limited to 25 children. Registration forms are in the zoo gift shop, 1045 W. 25th St., from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Registrations must be returned by July 1. President search
The Merced College Committee overseeing the search for its next college president plans public input meetings throughout July. The first one is 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Le Grand High School, 12961 E. Le Grand Road in Le Grand. The Merced Sun-Star is accepting nominations for its second annual Excellence in Business awards. Our Lady celebration
The Society of Our Lady of Mount Carmel is extending an invitation to the 83rd annual Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Celebration from Thursday to July 17. The celebration Mass, featuring classic Italian hymns, will be 11 a.m. July 17 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1621 Center Ave. in Los Banos. A traditional luncheon follows the Mass. Craft fair
Due to popular demand, the La Grange Odd Fellows of Lafayette Historical Lodge No. 65 are planning a second craft fair, which will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 16 at the IOOF Hall, 30018 Yosemite Blvd. in La Grange. Legal services
Central California Legal Services staff members would like to remind Merced County residents of the services and legal advice available: tenant rights and homeless issues; social security and SSI disability cases; senior citizen legal issues; public benefit issues such as food stamps, CalWorks, unemployment, Medi-Cal and health care concerns; and other civil law matters. Catfish dinner
The ninth annual Odd Fellows Catfish Dinner and Raffle will be 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 6 at the IOOF Hall, 30018 Yosemite Blvd. at La Grange. Cost is $12 for adults. Dinner and raffle tickets are available by calling 209-853-2128.
