Mental Health Board meeting

The monthly meeting of the Merced County Mental Health Board will be held from 3:30 to 5 p.m. today at 1137 B St. Meetings are held the first Tuesday of every month.

Livingston Lions Club collecting eyeglasses

Livingston Lions Club has five new collection points for used eyeglasses in Livingston. Eyeglasses are collected at the Livingston Rite Aid, Livingston Medical Center, True Value, Livingston Fittness and Liberty Market. Take any used eyeglasses to those boxes and they will be recycled to people in need around the world. Call Jill at (209) 489-7533 for more information about the Livingston Lions Club.

Historical Society meeting

The Merced County Historical Society will hold its annual membership meeting at 2 p.m. Sunday inside the Merced County Board of Supervisors chambers at the County Administration Building, 2222 M St. Officers will be installed during the meeting, and several awards will be presented. This year’s keynote speaker is San Joaquin Valley historian and author William B. Secrest Jr. The meeting is free and open to the public.

Valentine singing telegrams

The Golden Valley Chorus is offering singing “Valengrams“ in Merced, Modesto and other local communities. For $40 you can request a barbershop quartet to sing a love song to your sweetheart. Successful Thinkers Network meeting

The Successful Thinkers Network, which includes residents from Merced and Stanislaus counties, meets from noon to 2 p.m. every Tuesday at the Four Seasons Chinese Buffet in Modesto, 1800 Prescott Road. For more information, call Gail Wilson at (209) 712-8997.

Drivers sought to help veterans

Disabled American Veterans is looking for men and women to be volunteer drivers for veterans. Volunteering ensures that even those living far from VA hospitals can make their appointments and not go without the treatment they need. DAV provides van and fuel. Call (559) 25-6100 ext. 6907.

Grief share group

Central Presbyterian Church is hosting a 13-week grief share group every Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. The group will meet at the Hoffmeister Center, 1920 Canal St. For more information and/or to RSVP, please call the church office at (209)723-0491.
