President search

The Merced College committee overseeing the search for its next college president plans public input meetings throughout July. The next meeting is Tuesday 5:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Peggy Heller Elementary School’s Multi-Purpose Room, 201 Lake View Drive, Atwater. Cannella mobile office

State Sen. Anthony Cannella’s staff will hold a mobile district office 10-11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Planada Community Center, 9167 Stanford Ave., Planada; and 11 a.m.-noon Wednesday at the LeGrand Community Services Center, 13038 Jefferson St., LeGrand. The mobile district office allows the public to receive personal assistance on a variety of issues, including help with matters involving state agencies or state legislation. Appointments are not necessary, but can be made by calling 209-726-5495.

Puppet show

Coffee Bandits will host a free bilingual puppet show for children called “D.O.G.S.: Dozens of Good Solutions” at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the coffee shop, 309 W. Main St. Health professionals and students are part of the comedy show, which is about climate solutions and the substantial health benefits that could come from adopting them. Autism support

Challenged Family Resource Center plans an autism support group for families who have a child or adult who has autism from 5-6:30 p.m. every third Thursday of the month at the Challenged office, 827 W. 20th St., Merced. For more, stop by or call 209-384-0119.

Free smog vouchers

The Valley Air District and a nonprofit plan “Tune In & Tune Up,” a program that hands out $500 vouchers for cars in need of smog repair, from 8 a.m.-noon Saturday at Chowchilla Fairgrounds, 1000 S. Mono pow wow

The Sierra Mono Museum invites the public to the 45th Annual Indian Fair Days and Pow Wow 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 6 and 7 at Minarets High School, 45077 North Fork Road, O’Neals. Dinner theater
