Arts Wrap for July 22, 2016

‘Star Wars’

The Merced Parks and Recreation Department will show “Star Wars” at dusk Friday, July 22, at the Youth Sports Complex in the 1800 block of Wadrobe Avenue in Merced. The event is free. Staffers recommend viewers bring something to sit on. Merced city firefighters on July 8 cooked about 250 hot dogs for moviegoers and plan to return July 22. Call 209-385-6232.

Male dancers

Fair artwork

Playhouse gala

Playhouse Merced’s biggest fundraiser of the year is 6 p.m. Aug. 20 at the Bob Hart Square at Canal and Main streets. The gala is celebrating the silver screen with musical selections from classic movies. Tickets are $75 for general admission; $750 for a table of eight; and $1,000 for a VIP table. LB concerts
