Street Faire

The Merced Downtown Street Faire continues 5-10 p.m. Thursday on Main Street between K and M streets. Food, games, shopping and other entertainment is planned.

Youth Center

The McNamara Youth Center in the park is open for drop-in activities 3-6 p.m. Monday through Friday at the park, 1040 Canal St. For more, call 209-385-6235.

Legal services

Central California Legal Services staff would like to remind Merced County residents of the different services and legal advice provided: tenant rights and homeless issues; Social Security and SSI disability cases; senior citizen legal issues; public benefit issues such as food stamps, CalWORKs, unemployment, Medi-Cal and health care concerns; and other civil law matters. Public health

The Merced County Department of Public Health has set several community health planning meetings in July and August. Mono pow wow

The Sierra Mono Museum invites the public to the 45th Annual Indian Fair Days and Pow Wow 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Minarets High School, 45077 North Fork Road, O’Neals. Catfish dinner

The ninth annual Odd Fellows Catfish Dinner and Raffle is 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the IOOF Hall, 30018 Yosemite Blvd. in La Grange. Cost is $12 for adults. Dinner and raffle tickets are available by calling 209-853-2128.

Guest preacher

Former Dos Palos Mayor Johnny Mays, an evangelist and author of “The Achilles Heel of God,” will be a guest speaker at three services at 9 a.m., 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday at Merced First Assembly of God, 1350 Yosemite Parkway, Merced. Public pool

The McNamara Pool is open for recreational swimming 3-6 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. The cost is $1 for youth and $2 for adults. Fridays are “Free Swim Fridays” courtesy of the Satellite Rotary Club for all people under 18. For more, call 209-385-6235.

Neuropathy group

The Merced Peripheral Neuropathy Support Group’s next meeting is 1 p.m. Sept. 8 at the Hoffmeister Center, 1920 Canal Street in Merced. There is no meeting in July or August. For more, call Bill Cavner at 209-723-9405 or Larry Frice at 209-358-2045.

Class of 1966
