Republican Women meeting

Freshman orientation
Merced High School will host orientation for incoming ninth-graders at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 17 in the gym. All incoming freshmen should attend to hear about transitioning to high school. Coaches, teachers, club advisers and counselors will be on hand to answer questions. This is the first opportunity to turn in course requests and registration forms. Church potluck
The Livingston United Methodist Church,11695 Olive Ave., Livingston will hold its annual Valentine’s Social Potluck at noon Sunday after worship service in Pioneer Hall. Horse sanctuary
Wayward Ponies’ Home is a small equine sanctuary in Catheys Valley. Its sixth annual open house is set for 2 p.m. Feb. 21. Admission, refreshments, children’s activities and one raffle ticket toward a gate prize are free. There will be a $20 potluck-style raffle, in which each ticket buyer is guaranteed a pot full of prizes worth $50 or more. The sanctuary needs tax-deductible donations of new, prize-worthy items or gift certificates. Vintage toy show
The Vintage Toy and Collectible Show will be 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Feb. 15 at the Merced Elks Lodge, 1910 M St. Admission is $5 after 11 a.m. and $10 before 11 a.m. Children ages 10 and under are free. For show and dealer information, call (209) 722-6740. Food and drinks available for purchase.
