Gallery reception tonight

A reception for the art exhibit “Potpourri” is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. tonight at the Arbor Gallery, located inside the Merced Multicultural Center, 645 W. Main St. The exhibition features an eclectic assortment of paintings and fabric art created by Arbor Gallery members. Arbor Gallery is a co-operative art gallery that displays works by 25 of the area’s best-known artists. For more information call (209) 384-8338.

Town hall meetings

Supervisor John Pedrozo is scheduled to hold town hall meetings 6:30 p.m Feb. 19 at the Livingston City Council Chambers, 1416 C Street in Livingston and 6:30 p.m Feb. 25 at the multipurpose room of Tenaya Middle School, 760 West 8th Street in Merced. Pedrozo said he has coordinated the participation of several Merced County department heads who will be on hand to answer questions or respond to concerns raised by the public. MS Challengers meeting

MS Challengers' is a self-help group sponsored by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The next monthly meeting will happen 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church, 500 Buena Vista Dr. in Merced. There are no fees or registration required to attend. Genealogical Society meeting

The next Merced County Genealogical Society meeting is scheduled for 1 p.m. Feb. 21 at the Merced County Library, 2100 O St. inside the Gracey Room. The meeting is open to all, no membership is required. The meeting will include a presentation by Anne Field about organizing files.

Ice cream social

An ice cream social is scheduled to happen 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 1455 E. Yosemite Ave. Entertainment will include a clown, balloon animals, face painting, crafts and more. For information call Mary Brown at (209) 631-8873 or (209) 349-8203.

Sierra Club meeting

The next Merced Sierra Club meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Feb. 19 at Merced United Methodist Church, 899 Yosemite Parkway. Speaker Mark Osborne will give a presentation titled “Sailing across the Great Lakes to Nova Scotia.” For more information call Rod Webster at (209) 723-4747.

Franklin-Beachwood MAC meeting

The next Franklin-Beachwood Municipal Advisory Council meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Feb. 25 at Franklin Elementary School, 2936 Franklin Road, Room 21. Marjie Kirn will give a presentation on the Atwater/Merced Expressway. For more information call Dennis Haines at (209) 381-5981.
