I am pretty excited that summer is just around the corner. The weather is warming up and the sun is shining.
I am always a huge fan of summer, mainly because that means I get to move all my sundresses to the front of my closet. I have been collecting dresses for years now and have accumulated quite a few. There is just something classy and feminine about wearing a dress. To me, the ultimate classy outfit includes a dress of some sort. I probably wear a dress to work four out of five times a week. There are so many ways to wear a dress and I take inspiration from everything around me.
Living in the Central Valley has given me a huge appreciation for the country lifestyle and everything it entails. As I have mentioned before in previous articles, I love getting to wear cowgirl boots any chance I get. I wear them with jeans or dresses. There are honestly a million ways to wear them.
Today’s outfit is no different. I have been fortunate enough to get to partner with Durango boots on my blog, and today’s articles features one of my favorite pairs of its boots.
Durango was kind enough to send me a few pairs of boots so I can style them for my blog. This pair instantly stuck out to me on the company’s website. They are rustic looking yet super classy.
The minute I picked them I knew the outfit I wanted to create with them. I needed a flowy dress, because shockingly enough I didn’t own one. So I ran to Target and found this black dress. It was cool, lightweight and flowy.
I threw on a jacket that was sent to me by Deb Shops and the look was 90 percent complete. However, it was still missing something. I realized I didn’t have any jewelry on. My mother was kind enough to let me borrow two of her necklaces, and I love the look it gave this simple outfit.
I have been experimenting with jewelry a lot lately. I have a large collection of short and long necklaces. The other day before I went out and shot this outfit, my mom suggested I take a short necklace and pair it with a long one. I couldn’t believe I hadn’t thought of that before. It was a great idea.
I loved the outcome and now have been doing it more often than not. It gives two ordinary pieces, a very different look. I’m always looking for ways to shake up my outfit creations and pairing two types of jewelry can do just that.
Not a huge fan of boots? You can take this outfit and wear it with wedges, sandals or booties. The possibilities are endless when it comes to picking shoes for a dress.
During the summer I almost only wear sandals and wedges. They are comfortable and lightweight. Nobody wants to be burning up all day long because she wore the wrong shoes.
As always, feel free to shoot me an email with any questions about how to spice up an outfit that includes a dress. Hope you have a great Saturday!
