Time has come for fall transition
So the first day of fall is Wednesday, and normally I would be wearing scarves by now. Apparently that is not that case this year; as I write this I am sitting in shorts.
While the leaves aren’t changing colors yet, I have high hopes that it will start feeling like fall soon. In my world, this means pushing the summer clothes to the back and bringing the fall clothes to the front. My head is already spinning with the fall outfits that I can’t wait to share.
This week I decided to start my fall transition with this outfit. I found this black-and-white fit and flare dress at Kohl’s a few months ago and truly love how slimming it looks on almost any figure. I also love how conservative it is. It has a high neckline and a very appropriate length. I added an orange purse because orange is my go-to color for fall. If I can’t wear an orange scarf yet, I will accessorize with an orange purse. Who can turn down a good pop of color? Not me!
All right, let’s talk about fit and flare dresses. I have come to own a collection of these dresses, and I don’t see that changing any time soon. Not only are they completely adorable, but they are very flattering. I am big on sharing outfits that would look good on almost any body type. With the overwhelming focus on body image these days, it is always nice to find an outfit that works no matter what. I can happily say that I have been wearing fit and flare dresses for years and they always work. I have some curves, so the fact that these dresses make them disappear or not so noticeable, I will call that a win.
Every body type is different, and dressing for yours is always a must. Whenever I have the opportunity to go shopping with others, I make sure they are completely comfortable in what they are wearing. My best advice is if you don’t love it 150 percent in the store, you won’t wear it when you get home.
Make sure that no matter what dress style, you feel like the most beautiful woman in the world. Yes, those thoughts really do go through my head in the dressing room. I have walked away from many adorable dresses because they weren’t right for my body. No matter how hard I tried to make them work, they didn’t work for me. It happens. That is why you have to always dress for your body. It never lies.
I hope you all enjoyed the cooler weather this week. I could definitely get used to it.
As always, feel free to email me with any questions, comments or a subject you want me to cover in my next article. Until then … have a great Saturday!
