Lace design dress fills bill
A few weeks ago I was headed up to Napa to go to a golf tournament with my sister and couldn’t find a top in my closet that I wanted to wear.
Seeing as how I was headed to see one of my favorite golfers I wanted to find a new outfit. Yes, you read that right. Maybe it was just an excuse to buy a new top. You be the judge. Anyway, I went into Macy’s with the intent to buy a shirt. Well, a couple shirts and a dress later, I finally left the store.
I am a huge supporter of buying clothes when you can find them. It has become increasingly hard to find clothes that fit properly and don’t show too much skin.
This lace dress did exactly that.
I was hesitant to try it on because I was only there to shop for shirts, but it was too cute on the hanger to not give it a shot. The design was perfect, subtle while still standing out, and that’s exactly what I like.
I also loved how the sleeves were gathered to create a puffed look. As always Macy’s was having a great sale and I decided that I couldn’t pass up this dress.
This dress is a thicker material – which is nice when it is cold – but not too thick, so you can still wear it when it’s hot outside.
Another thing I love about this dress is that it is not skintight. Who likes being uncomfortable all day long for work?
You can see in the picture that I wore this dress with a pair of chunky heels; I have also worn it with leggings and booties. I paired this outfit with my favorite Hayden Harnett bag and these very comfortable shoes I also picked up from Macy’s a few years ago. It’s all about repurposing and reusing on my blog.
I would highly recommend heading to Macy’s if you are in need of finding some great fall/winter appropriate dresses. They have some really good sales and there are too many cute dresses to choose from.
I tend to pick dresses that are not made from heavy, thick material so that I can add layers to my outfit.
I always say you can add clothing, but there is only so much you can take off. Layering is a fun thing for fall and winter.
Whether you add a scarf, a lightweight jacket or tights, you can change the look of one dress five different ways.
In the coming weeks you will see how I layer some of my favorite pieces to work for the cooler weather.
By the way, didn’t you just love the cooler temperatures this week? I sure did. I officially moved the warmer clothes to the center of my closet. I feel like fall has officially arrived. Better late than never, right? Hope you all have a wonderful Saturday!
