Square dancing festival this weekend at Merced County Fairgrounds
Central California Square Dance Association will hold its 34th annual Wing Ding this weekend at the Merced County Fairgrounds, 900 Martin Luther King Jr. Way in Merced.
The weekend festival attracts about 350 dancers from all over California and northern Nevada, according to a press release. Admission is $45 for the weekend, $35 for one day.
Square dancers will perform to the national and internationally known callers Jet Roberts of Sacramento, Bronc Wise of Colorado and Sweden, and Dee Dee Dougherty of Minnesota. Round dancers will be led by Sharon and Casey Parker of Tracy, and T.J. and Bruce Chadd of Idaho.
CCSDA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and promoting square and round dancing in the Central Valley, the release said. For more information, visit www.ccsda.org.
