Skate Park Fundraiser
Beachwood-Franklin Committee 4 Improvement’s “SK8 4 The Youth Skate Park Fundraiser & Harvest Festival” will be held from noon to 3p.m. Oct. 21 at 2040 Lobo Ave., Merced. Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity of Merced County will hold its annual meeting and potluck at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 21 at St. Paul Lutheran Church Parish Hall, 2916 N. McKee Road. Merced. Bring a dish to share and enjoy visiting with Habitat families, hear news about the ReStore, updates on Brush with Kindness projects and introduction of our board of directors. Merced Monthly Sunday Dance
This month’s dance will be held Sunday at Merced Senior Community Center 755 W. 15th St. Gloria and Friends will perform. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. and dancing runs from 2 to 5 p.m. Cost is $8. For more information, call 209-628-0683.

Merced County Master Gardeners Program
The University of California Cooperative Extension Merced County Master Gardeners Program is taking applications for the 2017 Master Gardener Volunteer Training Course. Applications are due by Oct. 27 and classes will be held at the UCCE Merced office at 2145 Wardrobe Ave starting Jan. 10, 2018. Coat Drive in Merced
United Way is sponsoring a coat drive to benefit those in need in the community. Donate new or gently used coats for children, ages 1 to 19, to United Way of Merced County at 658 W. Main St., Merced. They can be dropped off now through Feb. 15, 2018, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
