If you drive a Honda or Toyota vehicle, police say you need to be on the lookout for suspects who have been targeting those vehicles throughout Merced for tires and wheels.

The Merced Police Department wants to make the public aware the department has received many reports of unknown suspects stealing tires and wheels off of Toyota and Honda vehicles.

“The Merced Police Department is actively looking for these criminals who are taking advantage of our citizens,” the police stated in a Facebook post.

The police are asking if anyone witnesses any suspicious activity and people loitering around vehicles, to call the police at 209-385-6912. If anyone has information regarding these crimes, contact Officer Sarah Abanathie at 209-388-7798 or by email at abanathies@cityofmerced.org.
