Law enforcement confiscates $1.5 million worth of weed, arrests four in Los Banos
Law enforcement confiscated marijuana with a street value of $1.5 million and arrested four people this week while searching three Los Banos homes that allegedly were being used for growing operations.
Los Banos police,the Merced Multi-Agency Narcotics Task Force and Gang Task Force served search warrants on homes on the 200 block of San Lorenzo Street, 200 block of North Santa Clara Street and the 2700 block of Swan Lane.
Cmdr. Jason Hedden said among the items seized by law enforcement were 1,102 marijuana plants worth $1.5 million, a .40-caliber gun and $4,453 in cash.
Police arrested Jose Garcia-Lopez, 24, and Jesus Llanas, 19, at the North Santa Clara address; Gilbrerto Rojas, 34, on Swan Lane; and Han Van Le, 34, on San Lorenzo Street, all on suspicion of cultivation of marijuana and utility theft. Garcia-Lopez and Llanes were also arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest after they allegedly ran from law enforcement. Rojas is free on bail. Garcia-Lopez, Llanes and Le are being held at the John Latorraca Correctional Center. Garcia-Lopez and Llanes are being held in lieu of $57,000 bail and Le’s bond is $55,000.
