Rangers in Yosemite National Park are seeking information regarding a missing hiker.

Over the weekend, park rangers noticed a vehicle had been parked along Tioga Road for an extended time. Rangers believe the owner of the vehicle, James Michael Millett Jr., planned a hike to Upper Yosemite Fall on Aug. 11. Park officials don’t believe Millett has returned to his vehicle since then.

Park officials have few details on Millett, including where he’s from. Officials do not know if he was hiking alone or what he was wearing. There also is some dispute on the spelling of the hiker’s name. Yosemite National Park social media accounts spell it James Michael Millet, but park officials said it’s Millett.

The 39-year-old is described as white, 5 feet, 9 inches tall and 170 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone has information on Millett’s whereabouts, is asked to contact the Yosemite National Park Emergency Communications Center at 209-379-1992.
