Shots fired in Merced

Shots were fired Thursday evening on East 22nd Street in Merced.

No one was injured, the Merced Police Department reported.

Officers responded at 7:09 p.m. to the first block of East 22nd Street, near G Street. Police found a home and car had been struck by gunfire.

Sgt. Jay Struble said police were looking for car, described as a smaller, silver, compact vehicle, that was seen in the area, but witlessness provided no other details. “It left in an unknown direction of travel,” Struble said.
