Police: 2 Merced County men arrested in guns, drugs; third held on warrant

Three Merced County men were arrested Thursday after Merced police served search warrants and found two of the men had drugs and guns, officers said in a news release.

At a house in the 100 block of Pyramid Court, Jeramy Longnecker, 34, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a gun and ammunition by a prohibited person, possession of methamphetamine and marijuana sales. He was released later that day. Longnecker has been jailed twice in the past – once on suspicion of being drunk in public and in 2012 on possession of a controlled substance for sale, according to jail records.

Two other men were arrested in the 2300 block of East Childs Avenue. Salvador Meza, 39, was arrested on an outstanding warrant. Christopher Reyes, 34, was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine intended for sale and having a gun.

Reyes posted $50,000 bond and was released from jail Friday. He has been jailed in the past on similar drug-related offenses, according to booking records.

Meza remains in the Merced County jail on suspicion of violating probation. He has been jailed numerous times in the past on suspicion of spousal abuse, stalking and violating probation, according to booking records.
