Thanksgiving meal at the Legion
The Merced County Rescue Mission will hold its annual Thanksgiving meal for the less fortunate from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the American Legion, 939 W. Main St.
Gospel concert
Julie-N-Friends, an evening of gospel music, is scheduled for 6 p.m. Nov. 30 at the Christian Life Center, 650 E. Olive Ave. in Merced. The talent lineup includes the Chordsmen Quartet of Fresno, Doug Wiley of Boise, Idaho, Sheri Stambaugh of Modesto, and local artists Rachel Rivero, Bridge of Grace and Sweet Harmony. Admission is free.
Mental health board meeting
The monthly meeting of the Merced County Mental Health Board will be held 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 2 at 1137 B St. Cara Rupp and Jon Masuda will give a presentation on current services at the Wellness Center.
Friends of the library book sale
The Friends of the Merced County Public Library will hold their annual Christmas/Holiday Book Sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 6 on the library’s main floor, 2100 O St. Donations will be accepted before the book sale.
Candy Cane Christmas Bazaar
The United Methodist Women will be having their 84th annual bazaar from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dec. 6 at 899 Yosemite Ave. in Merced. There will be a 11:30 a.m. bazaar luncheon. Tickets are $10. Call Joyce at (209) 617-8119 for tickets or information. Featured at the bazaar are attic treasures, a silent auction, the candy room, bake shop, boutique and handmade items room, jam/jelly room, Christmas room, egg rolls and Hmong stitchery.
Courthouse Museum holiday open house
The public is invited to experience a Community Christmas at the Courthouse Museum from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 7. The museum has decked the halls and filled the rooms of its historic building with close to 70 Christmas trees. Treats and traditional eggnog will be served. Live entertainment at 1 p.m. The event is free to the public. The Courthouse Museum is located at 21st and N streets in Merced.
