Christmas Parade

The Atwater Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Christmas Parade at 7 p.m. Friday downtown. The theme this year is “Winter Wonderland.”

Lighted tree forest

The city of Livingston will host its first Court of Trees “A Lighted Christmas Tree Forest” on the Old Court Theater property downtown. The city has invited schools, nonprofits, families, clubs, churches, businesses and neighbors to get a tree and decorate it to represent them. A Lighted Christmas Tree Forest will be unveiled at 6 p.m. Friday before the annual Christmas Parade. It will then be open daily from 5 to 9 p.m. through Dec. 24. Christmas bazaar

United Methodist Women will hold its 84th annual Candy Cane Christmas Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at 899 Yosemite Ave. There will be an 11:30 a.m. luncheon. Featured at the bazaar will be attic treasures, a silent auction, the candy room, bake shop, boutique and handmade items room, jam/jelly room, Christmas room, egg rolls and Hmong stitchery. Holiday open house

The public is invited to experience a community Christmas from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Merced County Courthouse Museum, 21st and N streets. The museum has decked the halls and filled the rooms of the historic building with close to 70 Christmas trees. Eggnog and treats will be served. Live entertainment at 1 p.m. The event is free.

Christmas concert

St. Patrick’s Catholic Church will have its 10th annual Christmas concert, “The Festival of Lessons and Carols,” at 5 p.m. Dec. 13 at the church, 671 E. Yosemite Ave. Several choirs will be accompanied by a guest string quartet, and audience participation will be encouraged during the caroling. All ages are welcome. There is no charge, but organizers plan to take an offering. For more information, call the church office at (209) 383-3924.

Party for foster children

The Merced County Foster Parents Association will hold a Christmas party for foster children Dec. 13. The group is looking for donations of money, toys, clothing, diapers and canned food to benefit the children. For more information, call Louise Klock at (209) 658-0445.
