MCOE recruiting and enrolling families for Head Start
The Merced County Office of Education is recruiting and enrolling families for the 2015-16 Head Start and Early Head Start programs.
Head Start is a comprehensive preschool and family development program available nationwide for children 3 and 4 years old. Early Head Start serves infants, toddlers and a limited number of pregnant women.
The Head Start in Merced County offers full-day and part-day classes and home-based and family child care programs. Head Start welcomes children with disabilities into every classroom.
Eligible families are those whose total annual income does not exceed the federal poverty guidelines. The program can serve children with special needs even if families do not qualify under the federal poverty guidelines. The Merced County Office of Education serves families of all cultures, and bilingual staff is available as needed. Information on transportation assistance and resources is also available at all Head Start Centers.
