Livingston pedestrian killed by vehicle

A Livingston man who was killed when he was hit by a vehicle as he walked down a road has been identified as Bagicha Singh, police said.

Singh, 63, died soon after he was struck Wednesday.

A man driving a pickup truck hit Singh about 5:40 p.m. as he walked north on Hammett Avenue near Campbell Avenue, Livingston police Chief Ruben Chavez said.

“For unknown reasons, he was walking in the middle of the road,” Chavez said.

The cause of the collision was under investigation, Chavez said. It occurred in an area with little development, about 200 feet from a gas station.
