Merced County Sheriff's Office

Two Merced gang members were arrested Tuesday after a woman identified them as the men who robbed her at gunpoint in her driveway, according to the Merced Police Department.

The woman called police Tuesday reporting she had been robbed in the 500 block of Brimmer Road and gave a description of the man, getaway driver and getaway car, police said in a news release.

Police spotted a vehicle driven by the suspects a short time later in the 1600 block of Laurel Avenue and detained both men, officers said.

The victim recognized Andy Vasquez, 22, as the man who held her at gunpoint and Johnny Munoz, 27, as the man driving the suspect car, according to police.

The victim’s purse was found inside the car, along with a gun reported stolen during a separate residential burglary, officers said.

Vasquez was arrested on suspicion of armed robbery, carrying a loaded stolen gun, being a gang member in possession of a gun and participating in a street gang. Munoz was arrested on suspicion of armed robbery, bring a driver allowing a loaded gun in the vehicle, participating in a criminal street gang and having an open container of alcohol, police said.
