Merco tree packed away until next holiday season

Workers on Monday morning packed away the Merco Credit Union Christmas tree in downtown Merced’s Bob Hart Square, a symbolic farewell to the holiday season. The tree is placed in the square every year after Thanksgiving and is lighted during the annual Christmas parade.
