Weaver band boosters raising money for new uniforms
The Weaver Middle School band boosters will host a fundraiser April 16 to replace the school’s 20-year-old band uniforms.
The approximately 100-piece middle school marching band performs in the same uniforms many of the musicians’ parents wore, according to Jerry Reyes, a member of the booster club.
Booster parents constantly hem the uniform pants and sew on missing buttons, hoping the uniforms will last another year.
The boosters hope to raise $25,000, which will cover the cost of 100 uniforms priced at $250 each.
The fundraiser April 16 will include a crab feed, silent auction and live auction.
The crab feed is all-you-can-eat crab with pasta, a meat sauce, salad and a roll for $50.
Both auctions will include items such as sports jerseys, baked goods and a family four-pack of tickets to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
The event will be held at 5:30 p.m. at Weaver Middle School.
