Body found near Merced has authorities seeking information

Merced County Sheriff’s Office investigators are asking for the public’s help to identify human remains discovered outside Merced.

The remains of the person, believed to be an adult male, were found early Tuesday southwest of Merced. The person’s death is considered suspicious, deputies said in a news release.

Merced County sheriff’s deputies responded early Tuesday to investigate the discovery of the body.

The body is believed to be that of a Latino or white man between the ages of 40 and 60. No identification was found near or on the remains.
